Corona Virus/Covid-19

January 29, 2020
Off

This is a new virus related to the cold viruses. Most people will get a mild illness but 10-20% people will get very sick.

We have no immunity, no treatments and no vaccines yet.

Current measures are trying to slow the spread of the illness, keep our hospitals from being overloaded and keep our healthcare workers and others working in the community for you.

What to do if you feel unwell

If unwell with a cold like illness, stay home and call us (9384 4426)

We can do a telephone consult to save you coming to the surgery

If we need to see you we will advise how to proceed

We can now order a Covid swab for you which can be done at certain pathology collection centres. We will advise you how to do this.

Nearly all people with a cold, flu or Covid-19 will recover at home without any specific treatment. So be calm, stay home and contact us for advice.

Self Care

Take care to avoid close contact (social distancing)
